Trench bars (sometimes referred to as channel bars) are a great tool for practicing giant swings and release moves that require a great deal of spotting from coaches. The Carolina Gym Supply Trench Bar Matting System is the perfect system to line your trench or channel bar area!

The Carolina Gym Supply Trench Bar Matting System consists of six (6) mats that connect together to form the system: special 8" soft landing mats, special wedge mats, and Carolina Gym Supply "Marshmallow" Soft Landing Mats.

The special 8" soft landing mats include hook fastener to hold it in place against the lined walls of the concrete hole (see note below about pricing and Carpet Bonded Foam) as well as the tops of the Marshmallow Mats. The mats are filled with the same density polyurethane foam as our Carolina Gym Supply 8" Soft Landing Mats.

The specially designed wedge mats attach with hook fastener to the tops of Marshmallow Mats as well. They are made of soft polyurethane foam and have mesh tops to allow them to "breathe" when tumbled into. These protect your athletes if they peel off into a corner of the pit.

The Marshmallow Mats at the bottom of the Carolina Gym Supply Trench Bar Matting System provide the cushioning necessary if an athlete misses the bar during a release move. The super-soft, yet very dense foam configuration offers superior protection. 

Pricing listed for the Carolina Gym Supply Trench Bar Matting System is for a concrete hole size that is 46" wide x 216" long x 87" deep. Pricing does not include Carolina Gym Supply Carpet Bonded Foam which is expected to be used to line the sides of the concrete hole. It is recommended to purchase two rolls of the non-Flexi version for this application.

What is the best size for a trench bar pit?

We've made the Carolina Gym Supply Trench Bar Matting System fit a number of trench bar pits, but we've found that the above dimensions of 46" wide x 216" long x 87" deep is best.
